Fire Department  Station 4

Ramseur’s Fire Department was founded in January of 1939.  The first fire truck, a 1939 Ford Oren and purchased in February and housed at the old Town Hall on Main Street.

A Fire Station was constructed in July 1965 at 722 Liberty Street.  This station has two bays and housed four fire trucks.  The Town of Ramseur maintains the 1939 truck for use in parades or at special events.

In March of 2004 the fire department moved into a new facility at 741 Coleridge Road.  This building has 3 ½ bays and houses five fire trucks, a Seagraves Pumper, a 1980 Ford Grumman Pumper, a 1993 KME Custom Cab and a quick response vehicle.  The Ramseur Fire Department responds to emergency fire and medical calls.  This building has room for expansions.

The Fire Department meets every Monday evening at 7 p.m. and is strictly volunteer.  If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for the Town of Ramseur, feel free to attend a Monday night meeting.
